One of the claims to fame of the different versions of the QL operating system is its built-in multi-tasking. This means that several different programs (jobs) can be running at one time.
QDT takes full advantage of this capability and uses separate jobs for each folder or desktop object, along with jobs for data sharing, drop-down menus, information windows, etc.
To be able to manage all these jobs, there are different basic job manager programs to allow the user to pick or remove jobs (handy in case a job goes bad and doesn't allow the user to gracefully exit it).
Unfortunately, there can be a lot of jobs running at one time and job management can get confusing if not impossible.
The QDT Job Manager is a modern job manager. It allows listing all the jobs or a subset of jobs. For example, the user can choose to not list any of the QDT jobs running. Or they might want to list only jobs starting with the letter 'g'.
The Job Manager allows the user to do the basic operations, such as switching to a job (bringing it to the front of the screen), killing a job, or changing the priorities of a job.
