In a normal desktop environment such as QDT, most programs will be executed from objects either within folders or from objects directly found on the desktop.

An alternative method to launch frequently used programs or open often viewed files is introduced with the Tab LaunchPad. This is simply a cross between a folder and the tabbed notebook concept. The Tab LaunchPad is a folder with tabbed pages that holds objects.

The idea is that each tabbed page is a grouping of like objects. For example, one tab may be for graphics programs, while another may hold editors. Another tab may include family pictures.

The user can add, move, or delete objects from the Tab LaunchPad much the same way that it is done with a regular folder.
